Dr. Concetta Tomaino, DA, LCAT, MT-BC
Dr. Concetta Tomaino, a pioneer in the field of music therapy, will share more than 40 years of clinical and research experience on music and senior health and provide information on music and the brain as well as practical tips everyone can use to add music as a therapeutic tool to care for loved ones as well as for their own health and wellness.

This presentation will address:

  • How to identify how music can aid in improving memory and attention
  • How to identify how music/rhythm can be used to enhance gait and balance in persons with neurologic diseases like Parkinson’s
  • How to identify clinical outcomes for patients with problems in executive function – especially in sub-acute rehab

REQUIREMENTS:
Aging Life Care Association SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers, #0166. This program is pending approval for 1.5 contact hours by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers (NACCM). Based on the NYSED regulations for social work CEU approval, all participants seeking social work CEUs must be signed in for the entire educational presentation and submit an online evaluation form to obtain the full 1.5 CEU hours.
