Overview

New York’s Medical Aid in Dying Act, signed into law on February 6, 2026, will take effect on August 5, 2026. This program will provide healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of this new legislation and its implications for practice.

Participants will gain insight into:

  • The request and approval process
  • Documentation requirements
  • Mental health evaluation components
  • Provider participation guidelines
  • How MAiD integrates with hospice and palliative care services
